Sunnyside Foursquare Youth Group believes in raising and equipping 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students to be passionate young men and women of God.
Sunnyside Foursquare Church was started over 25 years ago by our founding pastors Jerry and Joan Sanford. Equipping youth to become Christian leaders in every generation has always been the focus of our founding pastors and our current pastors Randy and Gloria Sanford. Throughout the years leaders and youth have changed and grown up, but one thing always stays consistent: a desire to see youth move in the power of the Holy Spirit, changing the world each lives in, and seeing God’s power changing lives.
Sunnyside Foursquare Youth Group has adopted the slogan; “Saved From Yesterday.” Saved From Yesterday simply stated means: God has saved us from our past mistakes through the redemptive power of Jesus Christ our Savior. The Greek letters we use simply stand for S.F.Y. Sunnyside Foursquare Youth or Saved From Yesterday.
Sunday Mornings
The first Sunday Morning service of each month, Sunnyside Foursquare Church has what we like to call our “Family Service”. During this service all age groups stay in our main 9:00 and 10:30 AM services. The other Sunday’s of the month, High School meets for class in room 215 after the worship service and announcements.
Wednesday Nights
Each Wednesday night at 6:30PM our High School students meet for youth group. The Wednesday night service consist of worship, prayer, games, and a lessons. Some Wednesdays we have student led worship services, other Wednesdays we have acoustic sets of worship. Our games are student led and are focused on building community within the group. Students are encouraged to participate in all activities, and bring their Bible to follow along in lessons. We meet in the sanctuary from 7:00 PM until 8:30PM. At 8:30 PM we have a short set of acoustic worship for anyone who wants to stay longer and worship.
Pastor Chris Martin is a LIFE Pacific College graduate and has been working with Jr. and Sr. High ministries for the last 9 years. His heart for this youth program extends outside of these four walls and into the surrounding communities and ultimately, around the world. We are focusing this year on building student leaders who will get into our communities and spread the gospel of Christ. Wednesday nights are an exciting time of worshiping together, fellowshipping together, and being ministered to-together.
